Having a few quality travel apps on your phone can be a life saver when you're on an adventure. There are many apps out there so to make it easier I've compiled a list of the top 5 best apps for traveling. These are especially good if you are traveling solo which is a big step in it of itself so any extra help or support can make a big difference. Google translate: How awesome is it to have your own personal translator right in your pocket? When traveling, a translation app is a great addition to your phone. This app is easy to use and it gives you the option of translating single words, sentences and even paragraphs! GasBuddy: Perfect for the road-tripper in need of a gas station. This app is helpful when it comes to finding the nearest gas stations and it also gives you all the prices so you can have your pick of the litter. Driving in an unknown place when you don't really know where you're going to begin with can be challenging so having an app that tells you where the nearest gas station is will save you time and stress. iExit: This app is also awesome for those who like to battle the road. iExit tells you what is up ahead at each exit such as food, hotels, gas stations, rest stops and more. You can even search for actual businesses and it will tell you where to find that particular place. Sometimes a hot, steamy latte or a snack can be a much needed pick me up to motivate you to keep on driving. Great for long, cross-country road trips. XE Currency: A currency converter app is a must have when traveling abroad. This app gives you access to live exchange rates on the go and it's also free! Now you don't have to try and calculate it all in your head which leaves you with more time to enjoy yourself. TripIt: This app allows you to plan your trip on the go. Having your itinerary close at hand can be hugely helpful. You can add the things you are doing in any particular day, flight and hotel info and directions to your destinations. TripIt also gives you the option to view your itinerary in a map so you can see exactly where you'll be going! If you upgrade the app to the pro version you also get notifications about flight delays, cancellations and alternate flight options. Hopefully these apps will help you on your travels so that you can have more time to relax and explore!
